A flight tournament has multiple qualifiers (or Day 1s), and the top X% (usually 10-20%) of each flight advance to the final day. When a flight reaches that percentage, it ends automatically, and the remaining players move to the final day (chips are carried over). Flights may also end based on level, time, or remaining players. Some flights may not award prizes, while others do. After all flights end, the final day starts as scheduled. You must buy in for each flight; direct entry to the final day is not allowed. You can enter multiple flights in the same tournament, but only your largest chip stack carries over if you qualify more than once.
2. What is a satellite tournament?
A satellite tournament is a tournament where you can win entry to a major tournament for a small buy-in. The entry fee is usually 10-20% of the major tournament. Multiple entries may be awarded depending on the number of participants. Example: In an $11 ($10+$1) satellite, one ticket to a $110 ($100+$10) tournament is awarded for every 11 players.
Some satellites award generic tickets that can be used for any tournament with the same buy-in, not just a specific tournament.
3. What is a guaranteed tournament?
A guaranteed tournament is a tournament where a certain prize pool is guaranteed regardless of the number of players. If there are more players, the prize pool increases, but it will not fall below the guaranteed minimum. Example: In a $55 ($50+$5) tournament with a $2,000 guarantee, even with 22 players, $2,000 is paid out. With 63 players, $3,150 (63×$50) is paid out.
4. How do I use tournament tickets in my backpack?
To use a ticket, select a tournament with the same value as your ticket from the 'Tournaments' tab in the lobby and register.
5. Which hands are eligible for the cash game jackpot?
Each jackpot table displays the prize for each qualifying hand. Players must use both hole cards and have a winning hand to qualify for the cumulative jackpot.
1. What is World Poker Global App's fairness algorithm?
Our fairness algorithm is designed to ensure that all players have an equal chance of winning and to enhance the player experience.
By limiting the number of skilled players at each table, we provide new players with a fair chance of winning. You will never be seated with eight pros at the same table and will mainly play against others of similar skill.
Even for pros, limiting the number of other pros provides a better experience.
Whether you are a new, recreational, or professional player, you will find your preferred game in one of the largest cash game player pools.
2. How does World Poker Global App ensure safety and reliability?
Our team consists of over 50 industry experts and former professional poker players. We use AI detection tools to monitor for bots, RTAs, collusion, and multi-accounting 24/7/365. What To Know About ESPN BET PA
In a joint press release, ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro describes PENN Entertainment as “the perfect partner to build an unmatched user experience for sports betting with ESPN BET.”
While PENN Entertainment chief executive officer Jay Snowden said: “This agreement with ESPN and collaboration on ESPN BET allows us to take another step forward as an industry leader.
Together, we can utilize each other’s strengths to create the type of experience that existing and new bettors have from both companies, and we can’t wait to get started.”
ESPN covers sports betting across its many platforms, offering a variety of gambling-centric shows, multiplatform coverage of industry news, or showcasing sports betting odds on its website and various TV programs.
But this marks the first time an online sportsbook that bears the coveted brand of the so-called Worldwide leader in sports. It’s a game-changer. That means bettors can place bets directly through ESPN’s online products in the 16 legalized betting states where PENN Entertainment is licensed – of which Pennsylvania is one of them.
ESPN & Sports Betting
It’s no secret that ESPN has been exploring routes into the country’s burgeoning online sports betting space. It’s been weighing up its options (to launch a sportsbook of its own or lend its name to an existing one) for years. But not until last November, when Pitaro indicated the optimal option would be to partner with an existing sportsbook rather than create one of its own, did we get an inkling of the company’s direction.
In 2019, ESPN and Caesars Sportsbook entered into a multi-year odds and branding deal, which included building a studio in the LINQ Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas from which the sports network currently produces the Daily Wager show.
Another trusted US sportsbook DraftKings, once touted as a top contender for a partnership deal with ESPN, entered into its own multiyear deal with ESPN which allowed it to push its odds and product through advertising on the sports network’s platforms.
Well, ESPN’s inevitable progress into the wagering realm has finally come to pass with a deal that the involved parties are calling “transformative.”
PENN Entertainment paid $1.5 billion in cash over a 10-year period, and granted the media giant $500 million of warrants to purchase approximately 31.8 million shares of PENN. In return, PENN gains access to: “odds attribution, promotional services inclusive of digital product integrations, traditional media, content integrations, and ESPN talent access, among other services that collectively generate maximum fan awareness of ESPN BET.”
As part of the deal, PENN has also ended its tumultuous three-year relationship with Barstool Sportsbook.
What Happened To Barstool Sportsbook?
To accommodate its partnering with ESPN, PENN sold Barstool Sportsbook back to its founder Dave Portnoy (for Pennies on the dollar, little to no restrictions, and a non-compete) almost six months after PENN had acquired a majority stake in Barstool.
PENN had high hopes for Barstool when it bought the online sportsbook in two deals over three years that totaled hundreds of millions of dollars.
But it severely underestimated just how tough it would be fronting Barstool Sportsbook – the brash sports and pop-culture media company that is so inextricably tied to its controversial founder – in a heavily regulated environment, all while attempting to make inroads in a competitive market that’s dominated by big players such as DraftKings, FanDuel, Caesars and BetMGM (to name a few).
Easily, the partnership with ESPN is a more attractive proposition for PENN that should involve minimal regulatory risk as it attempts to close the gap between the industry leaders.
However, it brings a unique set of concerns: how to avoid a conflict of interest between the two juxtaposing arms: ESPN’s news and information outlets and the gambling space within which ESPN BET operates.
“ESPN Bet is deeply integrated with ESPN’s broad editorial, content, digital and linear product, and sports programming ecosystem,” said PENN CEO Snowden. “ESPN Bet also benefit from PENN’s operational experience, extensive market access, and proprietary technology platform, which successfully debuted in the U.S. this July.”

What is the origin of the name Roulette? The origin of the name “roulette” is French and it means “little wheel”. The name is derived from the fact that the game is played on a small wheel that spins around, with players betting on where the ball will land. The word “roulette” was first used in its current context in the 18th century, although the game itself dates back much earlier.

Barstool Sportsbook is the online betting platform from Barstool Sports, combining the brand’s media and community with wagering options across many sports. It enables users to place bets via a mobile app and a desktop site, often featuring a familiar Barstool look and feel that appeals to fans of the brand. The platform operates in states where online sports betting is legal and licensed, with ongoing expansion as regulations and partnerships evolve.
How David Portnoy Got So Rich: The $551M Barstool Story
David Portnoy became rich by building Barstool Sports from a small college newspaper into a massive sports media and betting brand, then selling major stakes in the company for about $551 million before buying it all back for just $1. In 2020, Penn Entertainment (then Penn National Gaming) bought 36% of Barstool for $163 million in cash and stock, and later bought the remaining 64% for $388 million in 2023. A few years after that, Portnoy repurchased 100% of Barstool from Penn for $1, regaining full ownership of his original company.

Penn National Gaming’s $163 million investment in Barstool Sports is being put to the test as it introduces its first Barstool-branded sportsbook.
Still, not all analysts are convinced that the Barstool Sportsbook can hold its own against industry leaders like DraftKings and FanDuel.
Industry experts said Barstool Sportsbook’s features like ability to bet with or against Barstool talent are little more than novelties, but could be differentiators if they help build a community within the sportsbook, like Barstool has done on its other digital channels.

Barstool Sports’ founder, Dave Portnoy, and CEO, Erika Nardini, explain how the company is building an audience of sports betters with Barstool Bets.

Portnoy launched Barstool in 2003 as a print newsletter for gamblers and fantasy sports players, which drew in advertising support from offshore sportsbooks and poker companies, like Party Poker. Barstool later morphed into a more general-audience sports brand, after US regulators cracked down on the online poker sites, limiting the advertising opportunities for a site focused solely on gambling.
